Chinese celadon vase, c.1740 (French mounts, c.1750-5); porcelain and gilt bronze; c.1740. The Royal Collection. These Chinese celadon vases, in the form of grotesque carp, were made in China in around 1740 and not long afterwards were mounted as ewers in France. Probably purchased by George IV when Prince Regent.
